Meet John

John has worked with Browns on building his resilience and overcome his past trauma.

John was referred to Browns with a need to tackle their history of addiction and trauma, alongside their ongoing mental health issues.
The issues they were facing:

Our priority was to help him to build up resilience, ensuring he was able to overcome his past and move forward. It took John a while to build trust with those around him: something that with our support he was able to identify for himself as being a barrier to tackling his issues. By better understanding his triggers and emotional responses to life situations and issues has proven key in helping him move forward.

John came to Browns and received:
  • A different and flexible way of working in order to suit his needs.
  • We considered his addiction and offered flexibility around the time of day that sessions took place.
  • We gave john full responsibility for the therapeutic relationships Browns put in place, this helped the clients to assess their own needs and evaluate his own emotional resilience.
John is looking forward to the future

John has worked very hard on believing in himself more, which in turn has positively impacted his decision-making ability. He has been extremely vulnerable in his therapy sessions, which would have been unthinkable at the outset, which has benefitted all the relationships in his life. John is now armed with strategies he can use to prevent difficulties and issues from occurring moving forward.
