She had also previously been raped by an ex-partner and was being stalked by another ex-partner. The housing association and the local authority had declined to move her on the basis there was no evidence to suggest that her current tormentor was the perpetrator of the rape. As a result Rachel’s mental health was suffering, as was her employment.
As a result of this support Rachel’s managed move application appeal was successful and she moved out of the area into safe accommodation that was much better suited to her needs. Rachel was then able to resume work and engage successfully with therapeutic interventions put in place.
